To get a gun in Another Crab's Treasure, all you need to do is go into the settings menu. In the settings menu, go into the "Assist Mode" submenu, which is the last selection on the left. The last setting here is a slider labeled "Give Kril A Gun."

This is an accessibility setting to make the game easier if you're having trouble with a boss or enemies; it's also very fun and necessary for one of the achievements in Another Crab's Treasure. If you turn this on, it will replace Kril's shell with a melee weapon that can take out enemies in one shot. Once you've located one of the basic crab enemies, simply press and hold LB/L1 to ready your pistol and aim it at the enemy, then press X/Square to shoot him. Once you've shot the other crab, you should unlock the trophy.
