Midjourney offers a new command – /shorten as part of an update to version 5.2 of the AI Image Generator. The Shorten command can be used to get suggestions on which words may play a key role in generating your desired images and which words in your prompt are less important.
The correct length of the prompt
With the Shorten command, Midjourney analyzes the original prompt that you might want to use for image generation. It then recommends "Important Tokens" from your prompt and bolds the keywords that it considers important for image generation. The tool also highlights keywords with less significance by drawing a line over them to tell you which words to avoid.
As part of the suggestions, you will be given a refined set of 5 new "Shortened" prompts that Midjourney thinks will help you generate your images. You can take your pick in the answer that is generated and customize it with details that may or may not have been present in your original prompt to create the image you envisioned.
The ability to shorten prompts is available on Midjourney version 5.2, which is enabled by default when you access any of Midjourney's servers or the Midjourney Bot on your server or Discord DM. To check if this version is enabled on your account, click the text box at the bottom.
