iOS 16 brings one of the biggest overhauls to the iPhone lock screen in a long time. You can now change the font of your clock, add lock screen widgets, and even use widgets in your date placeholder. With all of these changes in mind, many would assume that you’d be able to change the font size of your lock screen clock and make it smaller. But is that actually the case? Let’s find out!
Can you shorten the time on your iPhone's lock screen?
Unfortunately, you can’t change the font size of the clock on the iOS 16 lock screen. You can only change the font, font color, widgets, and date. This is a major drawback if you don’t like the space the clock takes up on your lock screen, especially if you have an iPhone 14 Pro with the Always On Display. The bright, large clock can be a bit distracting when your device is idle.
This also applies to your home screen, where you can't change the time displayed in the upper left corner. However, if you want a smaller clock, you can try one of the solutions listed below to find one that best suits your current needs.
