This article explains how to connect speaker wires using electrical crimp connectors.
Speaker Cable Basics (Quick & Easy)
Before you begin splitting, you should set up your speakers and equipment properly. Turn off the power to the stereo receiver and disconnect the power cords. Disconnect and inspect all speaker cables, and set them aside for later use. Any cables that appear damaged or in poor condition should be discarded.
Now you are free to move speakers to their new locations. If time permits, this can be a great opportunity to consider how to hide or disguise speaker wires in living spaces. With the right techniques, wires can be safely and aesthetically hidden from view.
Once the speakers are in place, determine the length of wire needed to connect each speaker to the stereo system. Use the measuring tape and add up the distances. It is better to overestimate than underestimate, since slack is easily managed and splicing will require some trimming anyway.
