You may have noticed that whenever one of your contacts joins Signal, you get a notification in the form of a new chat thread letting you know. These seemingly insignificant notifications can quickly drown out the important chat threads, and with people migrating to Signal in large numbers every day, it can be quite annoying. You can always manually select and delete these threads, but there is a simple workaround that will stop Signal from sending you notifications whenever one of your contacts joins Signal.

Both Android and iPhone Signal messengers allow you to easily disable the 'Contact Joined Signal' notifications. Let's take a quick look at the procedure.

Open Signal and tap the three dots menu in the top right corner.

Tap Notifications.
