This article explains how to turn the Find My iPad feature on or off. Turning on the feature allows you to track your device. You should turn off the feature before selling or giving away your iPad. Instructions apply to iPadOS 14 through iOS 9.

To turn Find My iPad on or off, go to your iPad's settings.

Open the Settings app.
