Google Meet’s Picture in Picture (PiP) mode is a handy feature that lets you keep an eye on your meeting as you switch tabs. While the feature has been available on Google Chrome on desktop since 2022, Google is now rolling out a new update to Meet’s PiP that “automatically activates when you switch tabs during a meeting.”

If this is getting a little annoying, don't worry. There are a couple of ways to disable automatic PiP.
