Rotwood is an engaging game to play alone or with friends. You fight enemies in roguelike areas to get items to upgrade your base and character. It is a frantic game, so talking to your friends is essential to staying alive.

While communicating through a headset with a microphone is the best way to play Rotwood, there is also a way to type via text, although the game doesn't tell you how.
To use text chat, press the Y key on your keyboard. When you press the key, a text bot will open in the bottom center of the screen. You can write the message you want to send to friends and press the enter key for everyone to read.
Once you send a message, it will appear in the bottom left of your screen. However, it will disappear after a while, which isn’t ideal if you’re telling people things during frantic battles. It might be worth investing in a mid-range headset to chat with your friends on Discord. It’s not like the game has random matchmaking. You invite players you know via a code to join your sessions.
