This article explains what to do if your iPad is disabled because you entered the wrong passcode too many times or because you forgot your passcode and can't unlock the iPad.
(2022) Forgot your iPad passcode? Here’s how to get back in – NO COMPUTER!!
If you enter the wrong passcode when trying to unlock your iPad too many times in a row, your iPad may become disabled. Sometimes, the screen may tell you that your iPad is disabled. Other times, it may ask you to try again in five minutes, or tell you that your iPad has been disabled for days or years (it's not; it just means you need to wait a minute) or to connect to your computer.
Apple disables your iPad because the passcode is a security measure. If you enter the wrong passcode too many times, your iPad will assume that you are not the owner and that this is an attempt to break in. Temporarily disabling the iPad prevents this.
If you still know the correct passcode and simply entered something incorrectly, the problem is easy to fix: wait a few minutes. Once the disabled message disappears from the screen, try unlocking it again and if you use the correct passcode, it will work and you can use your iPad again.
