Rotwood has a number of weapons at his disposal to try out as you brave the wilderness, but initially only the Hammer is available.

You'll need to explore and collect various resources in different areas to unlock extra weapons, yo. It can be a bit of a grind, but finding and unlocking them is easy once you have items in hand.
You can get a new weapon in Rotwood while you are in the base camp. At the bottom center of the area there are a number of weapon racks. You can buy a new weapon type with Corestones that you find while exploring.
In addition to the Hammer, everyone's starting weapon, you can also choose a Strike, Spear, or Cannon Weapon. You can also find upgraded versions of weapons via shops in the various randomly generated areas, which can be purchased with Corestones or other materials you've collected during gameplay.
