And while players have been able to customize the appearance of their dice as part of the game's extensive customization options since launch, Larian Studios' Patch 5 update added a new mythic skin for serious players. To unlock the Golden D20 in Baldur's Gate 3, players must complete the game with the new Honor Mode enabled, and without dying. The game mode uses a single save file for the duration of the campaign. That is, if your entire party is killed while traversing the Forgotten Realms, you'll have to restart the game from the beginning. While you can continue the campaign after you die, you're effectively kicked out of the mode in BG3.

The Honor Mode, the hardest mode you’ll encounter, will make the story even more difficult, while introducing over 30 additional changes to all boss fights. According to Larian Studios, it will also include a new Legendary Action system specifically designed to surprise all players playing BG3 and increase the difficulty.
