The primary goal of Hades 2 is for Melonia to defeat Chronos and free her family from the House of Hades. However, the gods and goddesses of Olympus need her help to protect themselves from Chronos' siege and demand that she break through the barrier to reach Olympus.

The barrier won’t break with simple magic. The only way to do it is through a unique spell that you can unlock, which becomes available as you progress through Hades 2. Unlocking this spell takes time and multiple runs to Chronos, but eventually you can break the barrier and bring the fight to Olympus.
The only way to overcome the barrier to Olympus is to complete the Incantation Permeation of Witching-Wards in Hades 2. It is an incantation that dispels the barrier and unlocks the second area you can explore in Hades 2.
