How to update your motherboard BIOS
BIOS updates are different than an update you perform on a software program or operating system; they are often applied differently. Most people never have to worry about updating BIOS unless a troubleshooting guide specifically asks for it.
However, if you install new hardware that your computer doesn't recognize, or you're troubleshooting another hardware-related problem, a BIOS update may provide a needed compatibility or stability fix. An update can also add features to a motherboard, fix bugs, and address security vulnerabilities.
