This article explains how to update iTunes on a Mac or Windows PC.
The easiest way to upgrade iTunes is to do almost nothing. iTunes will notify you when a new version is released, and the upgrade notification will appear when you start iTunes. If you see that window and want to upgrade, just follow the on-screen instructions and you’ll be running the latest version of iTunes in no time.
To update iTunes on a Mac, use the Mac App Store application, which is built into macOS on all Macs. Updates for all Apple software (and some third-party tools) are performed through this application. Select Updates at the top of the App Store window. If iTunes updates are available, select Install.
There is also a way to update iTunes from within iTunes. Go to the iTunes menu and click Check for Updates. In the pop-up window, click Download iTunes. Then click the Update button next to the iTunes update. The App Store program will then automatically download and install the new version of iTunes.
