If you're just starting out in action-RPG Outcast, it can be a little confusing, with all sorts of currencies and upgrades to manage. A great way to get started early is by upgrading your weapon modules in Outcast, so read on below for my guide on how to do that.

Once you start taking out some droids and bases in Outcast: A New Beginning, you’ll start collecting Nano-Cells. Nano-Cells are a resource that can be used to upgrade all sorts of tech gear, but early on you’re encouraged to use them in the Combat Upgrade menu. If you’re going the ranged combat route, I recommend going straight for Module Upgrade I.

While there’s nothing in-game to tell you this, taking a module upgrade will allow you to spend those Nano Cells in another section of the menu. Click on the Weapons section of the menu and highlight one of your favorite weapon modules. Each one has three tiers, and by hovering over one of the modules and holding X (shown below right, above) you can now upgrade that module to tier 2.
