The rope is one of the many items you'll come across during your adventure in Baldur's Gate 3. Players can come across ropes in their inventory and come up with creative ways to implement them for exploration or combat, such as in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. However, the use of a rope is currently very limited. Here's what you need to know about using rope.
How to use ropes in Baldur's Gate 3
The primary use of a rope in BG3 (Baldur's Gate 3) is to throw it. To do this, select the rope in your inventory and click on the ground or object you want to throw it at. The rope will unfold in a straight line between your character and the target.
This may allow you to block vents, buttons, levers, or other interactive objects by draping the rope over them. However, the rope only blocks these objects and does not disable them permanently. Enemies can easily remove the rope if they so choose.
Rope cannot be used to climb surfaces in Baldur's Gate 3. You will have to find other paths around cliffs and walls. Rope lacks climbing mechanics in this game.
