Minecraft is an awesome Sandbox game that brings the 2D Pixels aesthetic to a 3D game. Many players have created awesome things like Monumental Builds & RPG Realms. Speaking of RPG Realms, you can create these Realms by creating a Multiplayer Server. Once you have done that, you will need to create different text messages to differentiate what kind of messages they are. That is why it is necessary to format the codes using Color and Format Codes. In this guide, I will show you how to use Color & Format Codes in Minecraft.

How to Use Minecraft Color and Formatting Codes

The color and formatting codes in Minecraft allow a player to edit and style their text. This text can be text in a chat, the message of the day (MOTD), an on-screen message, etc. The way it works is quite simple, even though it may seem jargony. They work in a similar way to the command codes in the game. For whatever color you want to use, simply copy the code below and paste it right next to your text. Make sure you don't leave a space between the codes, otherwise the space will appear. Here's how to write them:

Your MOTD will turn blue. You can apply the Color & Format Codes by applying them to your Multiplayer Server. To access the Server files, you will need to go to /Documents/MC servers/(the Server name) and open the server.properties Text File. Here you can edit certain Server Texts using the Minecraft Color & Format Codes. You can also make your Text Bold, Italic, Underline, etc. See the table below for all the Codes.

The above Chat codes work with Text in a Book & Quil, & Signs. They also work in BE Chat, but not in JE Chat. If you want a visual representation of how to use the Color & Format codes, check out the video on our YouTube channel.
