The days of fiddling with USB cables to connect your Android device to a PC are over. Thanks to a series of updates, Microsoft has made it possible to connect your Android device to Windows and access its storage wirelessly and natively.
Windows 11: Wirelessly access Android phone files via File Explorer (new feature in 24H2)
What’s even better is that once you’ve set it up, the device will automatically connect to Wi-Fi, allowing you to access your Android device’s storage without having to click any buttons. So you can essentially access your Android storage anytime via File Explorer.
We covered this feature back in July, when it was still in development and only available to Windows Insiders. But now that it’s available to everyone, it’s a much simpler process. Here’s everything you need to know to connect and wirelessly access your Android’s storage from your PC.
The feature is available from the 'Mobile Device Management' settings page. It's the same feature that lets you use your Android phone as a connected camera and lets you see notifications when you take a photo or screenshot on your phone.
