You may have only used it to open PDFs and view images, but Apple’s Preview app can do so much more. In fact, it’s a handy tool for common image editing and exporting tasks. It may interest you to know that the software predates the operating system in current Macs. Preview was part of the NeXTSTEP operating system that became the basis for what we now call macOS. When it was part of NeXT, it displayed and printed PostScript and TIFF files. Apple began weaving a range of useful editing tools into Preview when it released Mac OS X Leopard in 2007.
