The addition of a music feature to Snapchat is something that brings it more in line with other competing social video apps, most notably Instagram. Before this update, you needed another device or a computer to play music in your Snapchat videos. Here's how it works.

Open your favorite music app and play any song you want. Whether it’s iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, SoundCloud or any other app, as long as it plays music on your phone, you can use it with Snapchat.

Launch Snapchat (while the music is still playing), navigate to the camera tab, and hold the large record button to record your video message. It will record any music that is playing on your device at the same time.
