Baldur's Gate 3 is known for having in-game items that may not seem all that useful at the beginning of your campaign, but will make sense as you progress through the various acts. And the same goes for the Brain Jars you'll find atop the Nautiloid as you begin your journey through the lands of the Forgotten Realm. These jars are filled with consciousness that players can access using a Mind Archive Interface hidden in the Necrotic Laboratory in Act 2 of BG3.

However, things can get pretty confusing at first and you may not know exactly how to use the Brain Jars in Baldur’s Gate 3. Not to mention, there are also several mind jars scattered throughout the game’s laboratory. So if you want to know how to use the jars effectively in the game, here’s everything you need to know about them.
Players will encounter the Brain Jars in Baldur's Gate 3 within the Nautiloid in Act One itself. You should keep them in your inventory, as you won't be able to use them until you enter Act Two of your campaign. To use the Brain Jars, players must interact with the Slacked Skin Head sitting atop a Mind Archive Interface hidden in the Necrotic Laboratory in BG3.
The Necrotic Laboratory can be found in the Mind Flayer Colony in the game. Once you enter Act Two, the Mind Flayer Colony is located underneath the Moonrise Tower Prison. Players will need to head to the southeastern portion of the map to find the laboratory. The Mind Archive Interface is located at X: 699 Y: -117 in Baldur's Gate 3.
