It won’t explode, but Apple does offer a way to remotely wipe all of your personal information from your iOS devices. We’ll show you how to do it on any version of iOS.

To remotely erase data from your lost iPhone, you need to perform some settings first.

Enable the Find my iPhone feature on your phone and connect an active iCloud account to your device for Find My iPhone to work. An iCloud account is provided for free by Apple.

Open the Settings app.
