We purchased the HP Pavilion 15z so that our expert reviewer could thoroughly test and review it. Read on for our full product review.
The Pavilion line is Hewlett-Packard’s primary entry-level model for low- to mid-range laptops. The HP Pavilion 15z is a solid mid-range machine that comes equipped with a 15.6-inch display (with optional touchscreen and full HD resolution) and a handful of different memory, storage, CPU, and GPU configurations. The machine we tested is built for the budget-conscious consumer, with a 768p touchscreen display, AMD Ryzen 3 2200U CPU, and AMD Radeon Vega 3 graphics.
Specs only tell part of the story, so we put an HP Pavilion 15z through its paces to see how it performs under real-world conditions. In addition to basic benchmarks, we tested things like battery life, its ability to handle productivity tasks, and even how well it runs games.
Pavilion is a budget line, but HP's design aesthetic has improved a lot over the years. This laptop still doesn't have the unibody construction of its more expensive cousins like the HP Envy series, but it looks and feels very nice for a laptop in this price range.
