Scholastic has finally revealed the official book cover and synopsis for Suzanne Collins' newest Hunger Games prequel novel titled Sunrise on the Reaping. It will center on Panem's Second Quarter Quell, where a young Haymitch Abernathy is chosen as one of District 12's tributes.

The upcoming novel is expected to be published on March 18, 2025. Shortly after the book was announced, Lionsgate also confirmed that development on the Sunrise on the Reaping film has already begun. At this time, the studio has not yet officially announced the cast of the project. The new Hunger Games film is expected to hit theaters on November 20, 2026.
