A hyperlink is a link on the web to another resource. It uses a special kind of command that jumps to other content in a web browser, usually to another page.

What is a Hyperlink? How do Hyperlinks Work?

Most web pages are filled with dozens of hyperlinks, each of which takes the visitor to a related web page, image, or file. Search results are another easy way to view hyperlinks; search for something on Bing, Google, DuckDuckGo, or another search engine, and each result is a hyperlink to the various web pages that appear in the results.

A hyperlink can even point to a specific part of a web page (and not just the primary page) using a so-called anchor.

You know something is hyperlinked when your mouse pointer changes into a pointing finger. Hyperlinks appear as images or as underlined words or sentences. Sometimes hyperlinks also take the form of drop-down menus or small animated movies or advertisements.
