Hyundai is on a roll in the EV world. Every electric vehicle reveal proves that the Korean automaker is moving full steam ahead without compromise. But this week, it outdid itself with a production-ready vehicle, the N Vision 74 Concept, a vehicle based on the Hyundai Pony Coupe concept that debuted in 1974.

It needs to be in customers’ driveways and on public roads, making owners and other drivers happy. Who wouldn’t want to see this driving around their neighborhood? It’s a great throwback to an earlier concept vehicle, and honestly, if Honda and Volkswagen can make retro work, why can’t Hyundai?
I’ve written a few words about how to bring the Honda E to the United States. Honda has been notoriously late to the EV transition, and the Honda E could serve as a halo vehicle in the U.S. that creates goodwill in the electric car world while also buying the automaker some time to get its EVs on the road.
Still, it’s probably never coming to the US, and there was even a chance it never would have. Some in Honda’s upper management weren’t too keen on the Honda E’s arrival on the market. Thankfully, their shortsightedness didn’t prevail, and Europeans now have the cute, retro-inspired E for sale.
