I never realized how quickly the cost of window treatments can add up until I bought my first house (turns out it had way too many windows). And if you want your window treatments to be “smart” (that is, controllable via an app and integrate with your existing smart home tech), the cost only increases. Fortunately, there are a number of “budget” manufacturers that offer cheaper options than high-end brands like Serena by Lutron.
Smart Shades You Can Actually Afford! (SmartWings Review)
I recently tried one out to see if they were worth the investment or not. I decided to go with SmartWings, who sent me a set of their solar-powered, light-filtering, blackout single-cell blinds with a 15-channel remote and a hub that allows me to connect them to my Google Home.
Considering that these are more 'affordable' blinds (relatively speaking, they cost about the same as IKEA's smart blinds), I was pleasantly surprised by their quality and performance.
Assembly: Very easy to install, as they are delivered pre-assembled.
