New experimental lithium metal batteries less likely to explode
Igor Bonifacic is a journalist with a passion for finding and telling the human stories behind disruptive technologies. He has more than a decade of experience covering the tech industry, including a recent stint as weekend editor of Engadget, where he wrote way too many stories about Elon Musk’s tweets. He has also written for a handful of other tech publications, including Motherboard (RIP) and Android Authority.
My primary work and gaming machine is a Windows 11 desktop I first built in 2015 and recently refreshed with an AMD Ryzen 5800X3D and NVIDIA RTX 3070. I also own a 2018 MacBook Air, a 2020 iPad Air, and an iPhone 12. My favorite gadget, however, is my Fujifilm XE-3 mirrorless camera. I’ve used it to document nearly every day of my life since 2017. There’s just something about Fujifilm’s user experience and color science that only fellow Fujifilm photographers will understand. I also have a special place in my heart for the Sony KV-9PT50 CRT TV I recently picked up at a yard sale. It’s a 9-inch CRT that’s perfect for an afternoon of retro gaming.
Igor likes to joke that he has a degree in unemployment, having spent four years at the University of Toronto working on a double major in art history and English literature. He dropped out in his final year to care for an ailing parent. Although he doesn’t have a formal degree, Igor is always looking to learn something new and expand his understanding of the world.
