Two of the biggest North American organizations in the ALGS made major moves after the first round robin, with iiTzTimmy leaving DSG and subsequently signing with Moist Esports for the remainder of the Split Two Pro League.
iiTzTimmy announces he will be playing in the ALGS with Moist Esports
IiTzTimmy will now play alongside Apex Legends veterans Ben “Wxltzy” Walton and Zachary “Gild” Dennis, while Matthew “Emtee” Trengrove has stepped down from the active player roster, ending one of the longest-running dynamic duos in the ALGS: Wxltzy and Emtee played together on Team Burger in APAC-S since 2022. Emtee now joins Kyle “Draugr” Gillard as part of the Moist Esports coaching staff.
IiTzTimmy entered the competitive ALGS scene in 2023, forming his own team from The Dojo and dominating the NA Last Chance Qualifiers, where they debuted on LAN with an impressive fourth-place finish. DSG signed the entire roster for the 2024 season on January 18, as the team continued their dominance through Split One with a repeat Match Point Finals appearance and an eighth-place finish in the Split One Playoffs.
Moist Esports had dominated as APAC-S’ top team since 2022, but announced their intentions to relocate to NA for the 2024 season, picking up NA veteran Gild as part of their move to the region. Showing no signs of slowing down, Moist claimed second place in the Pro League, but the organization was subsequently forced to unceremoniously drop its roster after immigration issues prevented the team from traveling to LA for the Split One Playoffs. Despite these issues, the Apex squad ultimately made it to the LAN event, finishing fourth in the finals.
