Many gamers are excited to hear that an indie game is emerging from Early Access, a kind of limbo that many titles have been stuck in for a while. One such game is the beloved detective simulator Shadows of Doubt, which is now aiming for a full release in September.

The developers announced Shadows of Doubt version 1.0 release date in a Steam post today, August 12, stating that the title will launch on September 26, just over four months after it entered Steam’s early access program. This will also be followed by console releases, making the game available to owners of both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Given how Shadows of Doubt’s content has increased over the months, and how substantial the change of the 1.0 update will be, the developers have also announced a slight price increase from $19.99 to $24.99 starting on August 23.

Details on exactly what new content will be coming with the full release of Shadows of Doubt will be shared “in the coming weeks,” but players can still get excited, as the developers claim their planned additions would “make any private investigator quiver with fearlessness.”

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, Shadows of Doubt puts you in the shoes of a private investigator navigating procedurally generated streets, solving all manner of crimes and mysteries in true noir style. The world is an alternate version of our own with cyberpunk elements, including world-ruling mega-corporations, apocalyptic environmental disasters, and desperate people dreaming of the fantastical “Fields.”
