The internet is abuzz with news that FromSoftware, developer of the punishing Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, has released a new patch that buffs Blessing improvements in the Shadow Realm. This affects the highly popular Scadutree Fragments, making the early game of the DLC suddenly much easier.
I TRIED THE "MOST BROKEN GREATSWORD" OF ELDEN RING IN SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE 1.13 New OP Build Guide!
The patch, oddly titled Calibration Update 1.12. 2, specifies that "the attack and damage negation curve scaling of the Shadow Realm Blessings has been revised." To delve deeper, attack and damage negation have been noticeably improved, specifically "for the first half of the maximum number of Blessing buffs," with attack and damage negation for the latter half of the buffs now increasing more gradually.
These changes are significant because they affect Scadutree Fragments, fragments that can (and should) be collected to grant you a permanent boost to your Blessing level at a Site of Grace, making confronting enemies and bosses much more doable. But the increase specifically to the first half of the max number of Scadutree Fragments you can equip (20) is notable because it particularly benefits early-game players.
The community outrage over how punishing Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is has been so severe that it's even led to the game being given a "Mixed" user review status on Steam. Popular YouTubers like videogamedunkey have also been mocking the game for being so difficult, making you wonder how something so sadistic could ever be fun.
