It takes a lot of luck and dedication to find Shiny Pokémon, but one streamer's incredible Shiny luck ended in a total disaster that any seasoned player doesn't want to see.
Pokémon fans are in an uproar over Shinies
When it comes to Shiny hunting in Pokémon, one of the worst things you can do is lose the Shiny due to an accidental misclick. This usually results in you knocking out the wild Shiny, running away from it, or resetting your game, depending on the situation and which Pokémon you’re hunting. Shiny hunter and streamer Aelfgar happened to hunt the Gen III Grass Starter, Treecko, in Pokémon Sapphire while playing four games at once.
Because Shiny was the target, the streamer had to reset at the beginning of the game every time you had to choose between Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip to save Professor Birch from a wild Poochyena.
Finally, after five long days of hunting, Aelfgar came across the Shiny Treecko he was looking for. In fact, he came across two at once between the four games he ran, but everything went wrong before he could celebrate. As seen in the viral clip the streamer shared to X (formerly Twitter) on July 9, Aelfgar saw two Shiny Treecko on his screen before all the games restarted. The streamer screamed in fear, later vowing to "never, ever, ever reset too early again."
