Last week, we mentioned that Microsoft had millions of users testing Windows 10 under its Insider Program. As Microsoft plans a launch in over 190 countries around the world, it promised a new “upgrade the world” campaign, which is expected to last for a year. The hashtag “#UpgradeTheWorld” was also established. Today, the company also announced that 13 cities were selected around the world to host parties to celebrate the release. (Is it a coincidence that today also happens to be July 13th?) Beijing, Berlin, Dubai, Johannesburg, London, Madrid, Nairobi, New Delhi, New York City, Sao Paolo, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo are the lucky few to host these Microsoft events. We won’t complain that Singapore is more of a country or city-state than a city.
These parties are aimed towards fans who participated in the Insider Program. Testers will be able to meet developers and various members of the Windows 10 team. Several events and demonstrations are also planned for the party. If you’re not an insider, you’re probably losing interest. Nevertheless, this event will definitely educate thousands about some of the coolest new features of Windows 10 (and some of its downsides too). And a wealth of information will promptly flood the web. We’ll keep you updated as this information comes along.
