“Inside Out 2” has surpassed $1 billion at the international box office, one of just 12 releases — and the only animated film — to ever surpass that coveted milestone.

While 55 films have grossed $1 billion worldwide (which includes domestic and international ticket sales), only a dozen have hit that benchmark in foreign markets alone. And 11 of those films have been live-action. While Disney’s 2019 “The Lion King” grossed a whopping $1.1 billion internationally, the studio has classified the remake as live-action rather than computer-generated, so “Inside Out 2” is technically the first animated release to join the coveted club.

Now that it has reached the $1 billion mark, Inside Out2 has resonated everywhere, but its top foreign markets are Mexico ($102.2 million), Brazil ($80 million), the United Kingdom ($72.7 million), France ($62.6 million) and Korea ($60.8 million).
