Intel has unveiled its first automotive discrete GPU (dGPU), the Arc A760A. The GPU is geared toward the growing power demands of handling large workloads like AI features and AAA games, and is slated to begin shipping in vehicles as early as 2025.

Arc dGPUs, announced at Intel’s AI Cockpit Experience event, help the company build on its existing portfolio of software-defined vehicle (SDV) system-on-chips (SoC) – automotive chips and platforms that power in-car entertainment. With power dedicated to vehicle platforms, you can “transform the vehicle into a mobile office and entertainment hub with immersive 4K displays, multi-screen setups, and advanced 3D interfaces.”
Because Intel's software is fully compatible with both the integrated GPU and the discrete GPU, automakers can work with a single vehicle platform that can be scaled across multiple levels.
For example, Intel notes that “entry-level and mid-range models can leverage the Intel SDV SoC, while higher-end vehicles can take advantage of the additional power of the dGPU for even more premium features.”
