Some iPhone 13 users, as well as those with older devices running iOS 15, are reporting that their touchscreen doesn’t always respond to their input.
iPhone 13 screen not responding to touch
It's unclear what the exact issue is, but multiple people are experiencing issues with the tap-to-wake feature. Reports of the bug have surfaced on Reddit, on Apple Support, the MacRumors forums, and in various tweets on Twitter, but Apple has yet to issue an official response. Sometimes, simply pressing the power button is enough to "wake" the phone, other times a full reboot is required.
Reddit user paranoidaditya says tap-to-wake on their iPhone 13 hasn’t worked consistently since launch, and installing the iOS 15.1 beta hasn’t helped. However, other Reddit users like Twintale say their touchscreens are unresponsive after unlocking via Face ID.
The problem doesn’t appear to be limited to the iPhone 13, either. Some users are reporting that their iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 models are also acting strange, suggesting it could be an iOS 15 issue. But then MacRumors forum member Tal_Ent says that their iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 run the same operating system, but it’s only the iPhone 13 that’s having trouble.
