It’s admittedly a bit surprising (in a good way, of course!) but a new rumor suggests that Apple’s next-generation iPhone SE 4 will feature an identical rear chassis design to that of the upcoming standard iPhone 16 models. The information comes from prominent Chinese leaker, Fixed Focus Digital, who revealed the detail on social media platform Weibo.
iPhone SE 4 – The budget iPhone 16!
This also suggests that the iPhone SE 4, rumored to launch in spring 2024, could feature a similar dual-camera setup as the iPhone 16.
The leak also claims that the backplate manufacturing process for the iPhone SE 4 is "exactly the same" as the (non-Pro) iPhone 16 — so the rumors of the SE 4 using the iPhone 14's back panel may just have been quashed. One could argue that Apple adopted this newer process to achieve economies of scale now that iPhone 14 production is winding down. Naturally, that makes the wait for the iPhone 16 even more unbearable.
The upcoming iPhone SE 4 is expected to hit the market in spring 2025. Consumers are eagerly awaiting a new model that combines flagship features at a lower price than the current third-generation iPhone SE, which was released in March 2022.
