iPod Shuffle broken and not charging?
I recently ran into a problem with an Apple iPod Shuffle that wouldn't turn on. One day it was working fine, and the next day it refused to turn on. At first I thought the device was broken and time to throw it in the trash. But an unusual solution got the iPod working again.
This particular model of iPod Shuffle was a second generation (pictured above). However, this simple fix should work on other models of iPod Shuffle as well, as well as Nano and Classic iPods.
When I tried to turn on the seemingly dead iPod Shuffle, I got no playback function, no activity lights or anything from the device. I even tried to manually defrost/reset it:
