AppleCare+ is an extended warranty for Apple products, including iPads, iPhones, Macs, and Apple Watches. AppleCare+ gives you extra time to get repairs done at no extra cost and 24/7 chat and phone support, but is it worth the extra cost?

You can purchase AppleCare+ when you first get your new device, or you have a period to decide. In most regions, you have 60 days to decide. You can also choose between one and two or three years of coverage, depending on the device. You may also be able to get a rolling plan.

In addition to that granularity, the iPhone also has two plans, one of which includes theft and loss for a few dollars more per month. If you decide not to get AppleCare+ and your item needs service, you may still have the option of purchasing a plan. The coverage won’t apply to that repair or replacement, but you’ll have it later if something else happens.
