Two years ago, Cult of the Lamb came out without a multiplayer mode to keep the fun going. Now it’s here and fans are excited to play even more.
Cult of the Lamb CONSOLE ONLINE MULTIPLAYER
Following Cult of the Lamb's Sex Update comes Unholy Alliance, a free update that introduces the Goat via blood summon. The character enables local co-op, and trailers show how the Lamb and Goat will battle enemies and bosses in the game's campaign.
The developers emphasize the importance of fighting in sync to land critical hits, and players can use new tarot cards, curses, and relics. Additionally, players can participate in two-player versions of Cult of the Lamb's minigames, such as fishing and the dice game knucklebones.
Two years ago, Cult of the Lamb art director James Pearmain said that he thought a local co-op mode "would be cool", which was perhaps more of a teaser of what was actually in the pipeline. He also touched on online play, but was considerably less hopeful, citing that it would be "a new challenge" for the team and that at the time they were more inclined to stick with what they knew best. While this isn't a fully integrated online co-op experience, there's clearly been a big shift for the Cult of the Lamb team on this feature in the past few years.
