Two of the biggest hurdles in modern online gaming are server and connectivity issues. Every game has them, and Destiny 2 is no exception. There’s nothing more disappointing than expecting to take on the Witch Queen or the Deep Stone Crypt and instead encountering a server error.
How to Aim Insanely Well in Fortnite! 🎯 #shorts
Like all live-service games, Destiny 2 and its servers often go into maintenance for extended periods of time. During maintenance, the game is often unplayable until Bungie has completed the work. Don’t be the one who forgets to check if the servers are online on a scheduled raid night. Here’s how to check the Destiny 2 server status.
Final Shape’s server issues largely persisted through the expansion’s release, but that doesn’t mean Guardians are safe. Bungie still performs regular maintenance for patches, and both have been appearing quite frequently. On June 18, the servers went offline for maintenance at 8:45 a.m. CT and will return after a reset unless delays or issues are encountered. Background maintenance will last until 2 p.m. CT, and there’s a small chance that it will impact connections. You won’t be able to play Destiny 2 until the servers are back.
Players who want to stay up-to-date on server status should keep an eye on Bungie’s official channels, or the fan-made website bungiehelp.org, which consolidates the major social media accounts for support into one place.
