Bloodborne was released in 2015 and received positive reviews worldwide, with ratings of 9, 9.5 and even 10 from publications. Its popularity is still high even more than 8 years after its release, which begs the question: is FromSoftware working on Bloodborne and will there be a sequel? Here's everything we know so far and what to expect in the coming years.
FromSoftware Next game – Elden Ring 2? Bloodborne 2? Dark Souls 4? New game? My predictions!!!
Unfortunately, there is no official release date for Bloodborne 2, and FromSoftware has yet to announce a sequel or confirm that it is in development. There have been various rumors and speculations, but nothing concrete has been revealed.
This lack of information about Bloodborne 2 could be due to FromSoftware focusing on other projects and the time and resources the company has available. The smash hit Elden Ring is getting a DLC called Shadow of the Erdtree soon and there are also rumors of Elden Ring 2. Additionally, they released Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon in 2023 which was also well received by fans.
Fans can remain hopeful, because Bloodborne 2 has NOT been officially canceled. FromSoftware could make a surprise announcement about the sequel at some point. That's because FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki has said in interviews that he's open to working on a Bloodborne sequel, but there's no guarantee. He said, "Unfortunately, I'm not the one to decide," during BGS 2019. So while this doesn't give us a timeline, the doors aren't completely closed yet.
