Windows 11 does indeed have a handful of features that Microsoft ported over from its Xbox consoles that can improve your gaming experience, but PC gaming is a lot more complex than a few useful features. Before you upgrade, let’s take a look at Windows 11’s strengths, weaknesses, and potential problems.
Is Windows 11 better for gaming than Windows 10?
At a basic level, Windows 10 and Windows 11 offer similar levels of gaming performance. Benchmark tests show that identical hardware produces nearly identical results when running Windows 11 versus Windows 10.
Windows 11 scores slightly higher in most tests, but occasionally delivers slightly lower results when checking frames per second (FPS) performance when actually playing some games. In other games, FPS performance is slightly better on Windows 11.
While Windows 11 does deliver better overall performance on average, it’s not enough to justify an upgrade on pure performance alone. However, Windows 11 does include some useful gaming features that Windows 10 doesn’t, so that’s worth considering as well.
