Iso is having a huge moment in VALORANT, going from zero to hero after receiving several major buffs in Patch 8.11. As more players choose the duelist, we’re starting to see some strange interactions between his ultimate and other agents, including KAY/O.
"KAY/O, what are these FLASHES"
VALORANT’s recent update, Patch 8.11, only changed one of Iso’s abilities, but it was enough to break the game and prompt immediate nerfs in the upcoming Patch 9.0. Until those nerfs come, however, Iso will continue to appear in far more games than before. This increased usage of the duelist has also given us more opportunities to explore strange interactions his abilities can have with other agents. For example, players previously discovered that Clove can be teleported across the map if they use their ult within Iso’s ult.
And in a Reddit post from June 23rd, we found yet another strange ult interaction, this time between Iso and KAY/O. In the clip, KAY/O used his NULL/cmd ultimate just as Iso used his Kill Contract ultimate on him, sending them both into a separate dimension for a one-on-one duel. Iso ended up winning the duel, but it didn’t take him out of the dimension like it normally does. Instead, he was trapped there with KAY/O’s fallen body, as NULL/cmd gives KAY/O time to be revived by one of his allies.
Of course, there was no ally to save KAY/O, but this put Iso in a difficult situation. Despite winning the duel, Iso would not be able to leave his own ultimate and rejoin his team on the map until he killed KAY/O for good. This meant he had to shoot him until he ran out of health or wait for the robot's timer to run out. The problem was that Iso was also on a timer: if neither of the agents in Iso's ultimate die completely before the timer runs out, they both die.
