Understand Passwords in 4 Minutes
About six months after 1Password announced support for Desktop and iOS, the company has announced that it also supports Android passcodes.
Passkeys lets you securely and quickly log in using your device as a kind of password replacement. Instead of typing in a password (or using a password manager like 1Password or LastPass), you let your device generate a login for you. It’s all based on public-key cryptography, so it’s super secure.
Furthermore, all passkeys are equally strong: there is no such thing as a weak passkey like there are weak passwords. They are also phishing-resistant (no one can steal your passkey and it should always work from your device) and for the same reasons cannot be stolen in a data breach.
