James Coppinger is a former writer for Lifewire, where he wrote articles about CAD for over two years. Coppinger worked in mechanical, architectural, and civil engineering for two decades. He started as a boardroom draftsman, worked his way up to basic CAD drafting, then to designer and then worked as CAD manager for several large design firms. In his most recent role he oversaw the engineering development and CAD training for all professional staff in a civil engineering firm with over 300 employees. Throughout this, Coppinger was a fiction writer. He has since given up his work as an engineer and has published two successful fantasy novels.
James received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Graphics from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey.
