Jay is a freelance writer from Los Angeles who has been writing about technology since 2017. Before Lifewire, she wrote for a publication called Gadgets Magazine and has also had stints in the entertainment industry. She considers herself a jack of all trades: a writer first and foremost, but also a journalist and filmmaker.

Jay earned her bachelor's degree in Writing for Film and Television from Emerson College.
