Jenna Ortega began her career in Hollywood as a child actor at age 9 and quickly gained a following with roles on hit shows like Disney Channel's "Stuck in the Middle." She recently told The New York Times that she never had to endure any misbehavior on set as a child because her mother "watched over me like a hawk." Ortega hasn't watched this year's popular documentary series "Quiet on Set," which chronicled multiple stories of misconduct and harassment behind the scenes of Nickelodeon shows, but her mother has and "she called me about it."

"I think it hurt more for her because she had seen other children maybe not being protected or not being taken care of as well," Ortega said of her mother's reaction. "She was watching me like a hawk, so I think for her it was more empathy and she wished that she could have done something to help in some way. She just called me and said she was so thankful that everything was OK and that she was there to see it all."

Although Ortega was fortunate enough to be protected from harassment on set, she did admit to The Times that “child acting in general is strange.”
