KC secured a resounding victory over LCK legends on June 2, a team that featured four former world champions including Jang "MaRin" Gyeong-hwan, Kang "Ambition" Chan-yong and more. The show match was part of LG's Life's Good, Let's Play event. Despite KC winning the official series 2-0, the teams played a third match that featured more unconventional choices from KC's side.
Going into the 2024 LEC Summer Split, it was clear that Karmine Corp would be making changes to the roster. Former 100 Thieves Jungler Closer Kim “Canna” Chang-dong and Vladi, who will be making his professional League debut this Summer Split, were added. Here’s how KC beat the LCK legends:
While all five of the LCK legends are long retired, the gloves are off when they’re thrown back into a competitive setting. It was a win-win for the LCK and a lose-lose for Karmine Corp. If they win, it’s against retired players; if they lose, it’s an embarrassing story heading into the Summer Split. Fortunately for the Blue Wall, their newly formed roster left no room for an embarrassing defeat.
