Kenan Thompson took the microphone during the third night of the Democratic National Convention to joke with voters about Project 2025 and seriously educate them about it.

“Have you ever seen a document that can kill a small animal and democracy at the same time?” the Saturday Night Live comedian asked from the stage, holding up a huge, hardcover version of the plan drawn up by a group of Republicans that is reportedly a blueprint for Donald Trump’s potential second term.
In the 11-minute segment, Thompson lays the book onstage and conducts video calls with voters to explain how the plan could impact their lives.
“On page 584, Project 2025 calls for the elimination of protections for LGBTQ+ Americans,” Thompson tells a woman named Becky, who says she has been married to her wife for about eight years. “Back to the Stone Age.”
